Rex or Regional Express Airlines represents the revival of the regional aviation part of the collapsed Ansett.
Before Hazelton and Kendell were part of Ansett, they were profitable entities and enjoyed excellent reputation and support. Both airlines were still in operation under their own brands even during administration and they operated the same aircraft types. The operations were streamlined and a group of Singaporean and Australian investors purchased the Hazelton and Kendell turbo-prop passenger airlines businesses, leading to the formation of Regional Express – Rex.
Rex believes that the bush needs and deserves a quality air service with good connectivity providing airfares and flights to capital cities and many Regional centers at affordable prices.
Rex Airlines has many years of experience with Regional Australia and understands that the bush needs access to affordable air travel.
Rex has been able to offer cheaper airfare prices by way of their in-house programs that seek out and eliminate wastages and inefficiencies. This has been proven as successful as Rex's net average fare in FY 04/05 was 21% cheaper than when it started operations in 2002.
