Jetstar started flying within Australia on the 25th May 2004 and six months later started flying within Asia. Jetstar offers customers low cost cheap airfares by providing a simple travel experience.
Jetstar's Australian operation if wholly owned by Qantas but is managed separately and independently. Jetstar's Australian headquarters are in Melbourne.
Jetstar keeps costs to a minimum so that you can travel more often. A strong association with Qantas ensures the highest standards of operational excellence while delivering real savings to customers.

Jetstar Inflight Refreshments
StarClass
All snacks, meals and beverages (including alcohol) are included as part of the StarClass personal Service. StarClass passengers are able to select from meal choices. The number of meal services will vary depending upon the length of your flight.
Economy Class
On International services operated by A330 Aircraft, economy class passengers can select and pay for the option of having their meals included during their flight when they make their booking or they can purchase them on board. Additional snacks and beverages will be available for purchase inflight.
Economy class passengers who do not pre-select and pay for their meals will be able to purchase a meal during meal service. Without pre-purchasing, Jetstar can not guarantee that the meal of your choice will be available.
Passengers are also welcome to bring their own food and beverages (excluding alcohol)on board, however, there will be no refrigeration, heating, cutlery or facilities available.
All economy class passengers will be given a complementary bottle of water at the beginning of their flight and there is a water fountain and disposable cups in the Economy class cabin. All other beverages are available for purchase.
On domestic services and services to and from New Zealand, passengers who would like a drink or snack inflight can purchase them onboard.
Entertainment
After take off, each StarClass passenger will be offered a Video on Demand Unit and Headsets. Each unit is programmed with a range of movies, TV programs, music videos and children's programs. StarClass passengers can also plug headsets into their seat to enjoy a range of audio programs.
For Economy Class passengers, there will be a limited quantity of 'Video on Demand' units available for hire. Passengers can reserve and pay for a unit at the time they make their booking or once on board.
In the economy class, there will also be several screens along the aisles which show films and TV programs or the range of audio programs which will be available.
Children's activity kits will be available for purchase in the StarClass and Economy Class cabins.
Jetstar's inflight audio entertainment, available on all services, offers passengers a choice of 8 programs to entertain you during your journey. Headsets are available for purchase on board. Jetstar offers an inflight magazine to keep you entertained while providing great travel tips.
Amenities
StarClass passengers will have a comfort pack available on their flights. The kit includes a blanket and pillow, plus an amenity kit containing eye shades, a tooth brush and toothpaste. Comfort packs will be available for purchase in the economy class cabin.
