EAST
POINT MILITARY MUSEUM AND RESERVE
The bunker where the army planned Top End defence strategy during World War II.
The East Point Military Museum was Darwin's first museum. The museum includes artillery,videos, armored vehicles and photographs.
This military museum displays war memorabilia, gun aiming equipment, firearms and aviation, navy and army exhibits. There is also a video showing dramatic live footage of the Japanese bombing of Darwin. The surroundings are part of the East Point Reserve. Open daily 9.30 am to 5 pm. LOCATION

MUSEUM

The Museum and Art Gallery of the NT complex consists of 5 major permanent galleries, a touring gallery, educational facilities for school groups, a theatre, the Museum Shop and the Cornucopia Museum Cafe.The Museum and Art Gallery of the N T covers many aspects of the region's art, natural sciences, history and culture. FANNIE
BAY GAOL MUSEUM
Darwin's original penal institution in Fannie Bay is now a museum. Since 1883 The old gaol with its crude facilities and a chilling old gallows section is a grim reminder of what life in the gaol was like.The Fannie Bay Gaol was still in use until 1979, when the Berrimah Gaol was officially opened.

AVIATION HERITAGE CENTER
A feature of the museum is the WWII Spitfire and the huge B-52 bomber, one of only two found outside the US. There are aircraft displays including the wreckage of a Japanese Zero fighter plane, a remnant from Darwin's attack in 1942. Other exhibits include a Wessex helicopter, a Sabre jet and static displays on Australian aviation history.
Open daily 9am–5pm. Guided tours at 10am and 2pm. LOCATION

LYONS COTTAGE
One of Darwin's old buildings that have survived the ravages of time and weather. Visit this restored 1925 stone cottage and its photographic displays and you will get a glimpse of early European Darwin.
